Hi There! I’m Mandy, a trainer here at Lionheart Fitness. My background in fitness began when I was just a little girl. I grew up with two brothers and a single mom. My mom was determined to be physically fit, but going to the gym wasn’t practical with three small kids. She managed to stay active at home, by running laps or skipping in the yard, following along boxing/dance style workouts on DVD’s in the kitchen; even doing pushups with us on her back! I admired my mom so much that it inspired me to start my own fitness journey.
I remember writing out my first workout plan on a poster board when I was in grade 4. I would follow it every single day before school. I spent many years playing Fast Pitch Softball growing up, I’ve always had a love for sports and for exercise. Fast forward to highschool, I decided to begin going to the gym rather than doing home workouts and that’s when I found my love for weightlifting. I was seeing progress so much faster than I was previously and from there came tons of other improvements. My confidence went up so much, I was able to sleep better and concentrate more during school/work. I felt stronger, less stressed and overall better equipped to handle life.
I really enjoy helping others, so I decided this was going to be my way of doing that. I pursued a career in personal training with the BCRPA. Studying at Douglas College to get my certification; specializing in Fitness Theory, Weight training, Personal Training and Group Fitness. My goal is to share the benefits of regular physical activity with as many people as I can! If you are looking to feel better in your body, reach fitness goals that you may be unsure where to start with, or even to stay independent as you age, you’ve found the right girl!
